Changes to the competition for a new pedestrian bridge in South Park

Sofia Municipality – Department of Architecture and Urban Planning received a letter from the Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Chamber of Architects in Bulgaria. The letter included a request to change the conditions of the announced open international competition for a conceptual design under the Public Procurement Act with the subject: Pedestrian bridge over “Byala Cherkva” street. After consideration of what was stated in the letter and a meeting held with representatives of the governing bodies of the CAB and the regional collegium of the CAB – Sofia city, changes were introduced to the conditions of the competition.

Only registered design bureaus, companies engaged in the preparation of architectural and/or engineering projects or equivalent, as well as associations of natural persons and/or legal entities, such as at least one of the natural persons or one natural person from the composition of the legal entities should have full design legal capacity, may participate in the competition. Participants – foreign individuals or legal entities should meet equivalent requirements depending on the country in which they are based.

In addition to the prize provided for in the competition, the participant ranked first will receive an invitation to prepare an investment project for all necessary design parts in the working project phase. In this regard, the project assessment methodology has also been changed, and the assessment includes the designer’s fee for the working project phase as a percentage of the construction cost of the bridge.

The deadline for submitting the competition projects remains unchanged – 5:30 p.m. on September 29, 2022 at the Office of the Architecture and Urban Planning Department – Sofia, 5 Serdika St.
